Today’s random photo doesn’t come from my usual formula, rather, the random selection of a colleague. Micah Woods was kind enough to share word of this newsletter on his blog and as a part of it, he included this photo. Micah took this photo himself early Wednesday morning of the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June of 2019.
It’s fun to imagine Micah caught me in some kind of deep contemplation on our 9th green. And it could very well be. Or it could just as easily be that the weeks of prep had caught up and I was half asleep. Whether contemplating, or half sleeping, this is a pose in which I’m often seen during the summer.
I recall the week of the Championship being mostly beautiful weather, this morning especially. It was one of those mornings we’ve all experienced: the course is in great shape, the staff is completely on it, while attending to every possible detail. It allows a person the ability to stand there, taking it all in, thinking about how lucky we are.
If you’ve ever had the chance to be part of a championship, it is something you’ll never forget; the most wonderful combination of camaraderie and conditioning. Micah’s photo perfectly captures the feeling of a wonderful week.
