Hi Chris, I read this post from you last year and tried this method out on our greens this year. We used Floratine's Pervade at 1/2 FL/1000 every week. Our results were outstanding, as we had the best season ever. On days that we applied, I would have my hand-watering crew hit the entire green once in the afternoon, instead of checking, and then a 3 minute shot after the last players finished their rounds in the evening. Greens were the firmest since we began measuring firmness five years ago, and the fastest that they have ever been. I am excited to see if this is replicated for Year Two. All the best. Chris - how much water do you put out at night to water in this 1 oz application? When I spray Nautilus from Ocean Organics, I pound my greens with three sequential 100% runs on my greens, with time between the runs to soak in. I get the results I want, but I also have a grumpy irrigation system that I can't always count on how I would like to. If it's just a normal set of irrigation following the 1 oz app, I'd feel more comfortable trusting that everything will run properly.
Not much, usually 1/10”, unless it’s dry and they need more. I think it’s another nice benefit of this approach, not having to water in with a longer/heavy cycle.
That's fascinating. I may give it a shot next year. I use a different wetting agent and have pushup greens, so I'm not even sure if I should expect the same or similar results, but I like the outside-the-box thinking.
Do you water the wetting agents in immediately or over night? I've been concerned about applying wetting agents with foliar product for fear of tip burn especially during hot summer days. We typically water in immediately to prevent this.
Will you share the wetting agent that you use? We currently apply 3oz/1000 Revolution every 2 weeks. Our wetting agent applications cost 10x the NPK and I'd love to lower this. We are on pushup greens with a really high sand content.
I use Revolution on fairways at 4oz/1000 every 28 days. Works just as well as when I used 6oz/1000. I've tried it on greens, but didn't care for it. However, that was at the full 6oz/1000 every 28 days.
Thanks for the reply. I find the 6oz rate to be too high for greens, leaving the surface quite soft. 3oz every 2 weeks seems better. May try your method this season and go 1-1.5oz weekly with whatever I'm spraying

Hi Chris can you convert 1oz per 1000 square feet into ml per 1000 m2?

I’ve done both and prefer watering in at night. At the low rates I wrote about here, I’ve seen no issue with tank mixing anything.

Winfield's AquaFlo.

Keep in touch on your experience at that rate. I think it will work nicely, but that's speculative on my part.
Will do. Thanks Chris
Chris, do you do a first app with the recomended rate first and then start with the 1oz per 1000ft or you start with the 1oz rate? Thanks
We start right in with the 1oz rate.
hello,
1oz per 1000 sq ft of any product? or for a well-defined mark?
thank you
I really think this will work for any product. I’m not using a big name product for this approach.
