Awesome to see how you use this. I like this formula for adjusting n rates based on the growth ratio. I just extend the application interval with similar rates when the gr is above 0.3 (fescue) and increase it when we are too low. Your wra might reduce swings in the gr over time if it works out. Cool.
At this point (and I don't think this will change), I'm using GDDs and PGR reapplication to determine my intervals. Moving the N rate around seems to make sense, but in a non-PGR scenario, I could see how adjusting the application interval would work as well.
Recently discovered GP and GR through Micah's podcast, listening to episodes with Jason and Bjaarni.
Heard your name mentioned a few times so thought id pop on over and have a read.
Just a quick question in relation to the predicted nitrogen use from growth potential. How are you setting your "maximum" nitrogen value? Are you looking at your fert program and using the Actual Nitrogen amount applied/365 days? Or is there a particular figure to be using for creeping bentgrass greens and how did you find this?
Hi Chris, Any Chance you could make chart 2 available to us so we can utilise this at our golf courses. I think you have really got onto something with the predicitve N Amount based on daily data collection.
Chris, really interesting read. I started to see a much more consistent playing surface when I was monitoring clipping yield and N applied. Early stages of dialing it in. My question is; do growth regulators factor in separately or is all the same equation. Thanks

Thanks Jason! The GR is a great tool.

PGRs are a good question. I'm going to write a follow up on it.
